Attention Gladiator Nation! It’s no secret that Kerry Washington went to Disneyland this weekend. She even tweeted about it (see below). The paps even captured Kerry and her camera-shy husband, Nnamdi Asomugha, in a rare display of public affection – holding hands. We hardly see these two in public together so we’ll take whatever we can get. These photos are courtesy of Just Jared and Splash.

Attention Royal Watchers! Prince William and Catherine, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, have released the first official solo photo of their son, Prince George, in honor of his first birthday on Tuesday, July 22nd. In this photo, the young prince and future king is standing and walking on his own. He is dressed in denim overalls from Petit Bateau, a navy polo shirt and navy Early Days Alex Pre-Walker shoes. My how time flies!

This is the first of three new official photos of Prince George being released to mark his first birthday. The remaining two will be released next week.

News: ‘Scandal’s’ Shonda Rhimes on Season 4 – Harrison Is ‘Gone,’ and Focus Is Back on ‘Core People’ – THR

thr-shonda-scandals4-07162014

Attention Gladiator Nation! The Hollywood Reporter caught up with “Scandal” show runner Shonda Rhimes this week, who discussed what we can expect in season 4. Per Shonda, the slate has been wiped clean with all of the characters, and the series will once again focus on its core people. Harrison is dead and each of the gladiators will deal with his death in their own way – Abby will be affected especially hard.

A plus for season 4 is that the show will return to its cases of the week. We like that. We’re hoping that once again we will get to see the poised but fierce Olivia Pope we saw in seasons 1 and 2. The other characters will have their own issues to deal with: Now that Huck has found his family again, how will that affect his relationship with Quinn? What about Fitz? How will he handle Olivia leaving him at the lowest point of his life? Mellie is a drunken mess now. How will she bounce back if ever? And again Abby? Season 4 will reportedly reveal more of her backstory.

We’re holding out hope that “Scandal” will come back to reality in season 4, and never-again revisit the craziness in season 3. We have no interest in watching the lead character, Olivia Pope, being debased any further. Shonda gives her reasons for that but honestly, she could have handled this in a better way. This interview is already making the rounds on social media and not in a good way. If “Scandal” is truly serious about wiping the slate clean, how about getting rid of the abusive loser standing behind Olivia Pope in the picture above? We could do without Jake Ballard
